The juxtaposition of old and new in downtown Montreal. This really sums up the city!

Probably my favorite shot from Montreal. This gentleman sat at the table next to us at breakfast. I couldn't have posed him more perfectly if I tried. This is the raw shot with no processing.

Horse-drawn carts are all through the old city. We encountered this nice lady several times during our walks.

The size of this is hard to judge here. This is several stories high.

Just a small part of the Basilica of Notre Dame in Montreal. They run a light show at night which is quite spectacular. The Basilica itself is breath-taking.

Just a vibey shot of David as we gathered for the Basillca light show.

"I'm almost done ... just a couple more shots!" (MJ patiently waits)

Can you tell I love street scenes!? A couple strolling along at dusk.

More street scenes with cool lighting. The glow of the dress is car headlights.

A couple of American tourists down by the waterfront. Yes, those American women are hot!

The plaza in old city. We didn't find this till our last day ... waaaa. It was packed with sightseers and lots of fun things.

You can rent bicycles to ride around and you can drop them off at your destination. No need to bring them back. There are drop-off racks everywhere with some type of locking mechanism. Great idea.

The light at the breakfast place was wonderful and I had to take advantage of it with a shot of David and MJ.

The "Water Garden" in the Botanical Garden. For those of us with our own gardens, the gardening and landscaping skills demonstrated here were quite impressive. The water gardens are about 3 feet square each with a wide variety of wonderfully healthy species.

Another scene at the Chinese Garden section of the Jardin Botanique.

One of many lilly shots I took in the Jardin Botanique (botanical garden). I plan to take one of these and post-process it to really bring out the beauty.

I guess if Montreal is really Gotham City then someone signal the Bat-Alert. The Penguin seems to be in town.
From Montreal 2009
A scene from the Biodome (zoo). That is a red bird sitting on a branch looking straight up at the roof of the dome.

Wonderful architecture and design everywhere! Mixed in with the ornate are these modern looks that continually reminded us of "Gotham City" (Batman's home town).

Beautiful cathedrals are sprinkled all through-out Montreal. When we went shopping, there were two on adjacent street corners surrounded by skyscrapers. I think you could make a whole trip just touring the cathedrals if you were so inclined.

Another bistro. All of them very comfy and cozy though the sandwiches are bit weird.

Little surprises everywhere. These umbrellas were high above as we walked the city.

Flowers were everywhere. This was one of the many plazas in old city.
